ENGLISH 6 Remote sensor (back side) W ARNING: • Stor e the batteries in a place which childr en cannot r each. If a child accidentally swallows the battery , consult a doctor immediately . • Do not r echarge, short, disassemble or heat the batteries or dispose it in a fir e.
7 ENGLISH 4 Adjust the sound as you want (see page 14). T o drop the volume in a moment Press briefly while listening to any source. “A TT” star ts flashing on the displa y , and the volume le vel will drop in a moment. T o resume the previous v olume level, press the button briefly again.
8 ENGLISH RADIO BASIC OPERA TIONS Listening to the radio Y ou can use either automatic searching or manual searching to tune into a par ticular station. Searching a station automatically: Auto search 1 Select the band (FM 1 – 3, AM). Note: This r eceiver has thr ee FM bands (FM1, FM2, FM3).
9 ENGLISH 3 T une into a station y ou want while “M” is flashing. • If you release y our finger from the button, the manual mode will automatically turn off after 5 seconds. • If you hold do wn the button, the frequency keeps changing until you release the b utton.
10 ENGLISH Manual preset Y ou can preset up to 6 stations in each band (FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM) manually . Ex: Storing an FM station of 88.3 MHz into the preset number 1 of the FM1 band. 1 Select the band (FM1 – 3) you want to store FM stations into (in this example, FM1).
11 ENGLISH Playing a CD 1 Insert a disc into the loading slot. The unit turns on, draws a CD and starts playbac k automatically . Note: When a CD is inserted upside down, the CD automatically ejects. Note on One-T ouch Operation: When a CD is alr eady in the loading slot, pr essing CD turns on the unit and starts playback automatically .
12 ENGLISH Locating a track or a particular portion on a CD T o fast-for ward or reverse the track T o go to the next tracks or the previous tracks T o go to a particular track directly Press the number button corresponding to the tr ack number to start its playback.
13 ENGLISH Prohibiting CD ejection Y ou can prohibit the CD ejection and can loc k a CD in the loading slot. Press and hold CD and 0 for more than 2 seconds. “EJECT” flashes on the display for about 5 seconds, and the CD is locked and cannot be ejected.
14 ENGLISH SOUND ADJUSTMENTS Adjusting the sound Y ou can adjust the sound characteristics to your preference. 1 Select the item you want to adjust. Each time you press the button, the adjustab le items change as follo ws: Indication T o do: Range BAS Adjust the bass.
15 ENGLISH Recalling the sound modes When “SCM LINK” is set to “LINK ON, ” select the source. Notes: • Y ou can adjust each sound mode to your prefer ence, and stor e it in memory . If you want to adjust and stor e your original sound mode, see “Storing your own sound adjustments” on page 16.
16 ENGLISH Storing your own sound adjustment Y ou can adjust the sound modes (BEA T , SOFT , POP: see page 15) to your preference and store your o wn adjustments in memor y . • There is a time limit in doing the following procedure. If the setting is cancelled before you finish, start from step 1 again.
17 ENGLISH OTHER MAIN FUNCTIONS Setting the clock 1 Press and hold SEL (Select) for more than 2 seconds. “CLOCK H”, “CLOCK M”, “SCM LINK” or “LEVEL ” appears on the display . 2 Set the hour . 1 Select “CLOCK H” if not shown on the display .
18 ENGLISH 3 Select the desired mode — “VOL 1”, “VOL 2” or “OFF”. 4 Press SEL (select) to finish the setting. Selecting the level display Y ou can select the le vel display according to y our preference. When shipped from the factory , “VOL 2” is selected.
19 ENGLISH Note on cleaning the connectors: If you fr equently detach the contr ol panel, the connectors will deteriorate. T o minimize this possibility, periodically wipe the connectors with a cotton swab or cloth moistened with alcohol, being car eful not to damage the connectors.
20 ENGLISH MAINTENANCE Handling CDs This unit has been designed only to reproduce the CDs bearing the mar k. • Other discs cannot be played back. How to handle CDs When removing a CD fr om its case, press down the center holder of the case and lift the CD out, holding it by the edges .
21 ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service center . Symptoms • CD cannot be play ed back. • CD sound is sometimes interrupted. • “NO DISC” appears on the display .

PRECAUTIONS on power supply and speaker connections: • DO NOT connect the speaker leads of the power cord to the car battery; otherwise, the unit will be seriously damaged. • Connect the blac k lead (ground), yellow lead (to car battery , constant 12V), and red lead (to an accessor y terminal) correctly .
