Contents Thank you for purchasing the OMRON M6 AC Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor . The OMRON M6 AC is a compact, fully automatic blood pressure monitor , operating on the oscillometric principle. It measures your blood pressure and pulse rate simply and quickly .

(General Usage) Consult your physician before using the device in pregnancy including pre-eclampsia, or if diagnosed with arrhythmia or arteriosclerosis.
2 Importan t Safety In formation If there are any abnormalities during the measurement, remove the arm cuff. Do not use this device on i nfants or persons who cannot express their intentions. Do not inflate the arm cuff more than necessary . Do not use the device for any purpose other t han measuring blood pressure.
3 Importan t Safety In formation EN (Battery Usage) Do not insert the batteries with their pol arities incorrectly aligned. Use only 4 “AA” alkaline or manganese batteries with this devi ce. Do not use other types of batteries. Do not use new and used bat teries together .

5 1. Know Yo ur Device EN Display Symbols Irregular Heartbea t Symbol ( ) When the monit or detects an irregular rh ythm two or more times during t he measurement, the irr egular heartbeat s ymbol ( ) will appear on the display with the measurement values.

Know Yo ur Device Blood Pressure Colour Indicator If your systolic or diastolic pressure is above the standard range (135 mmHg for the systolic blood pr essure and/or 85 mmHg for t he diastolic blood pressure), the blood pressure colour indicator will light in “orange” when the meas urement result is displayed.
7 EN 2. Prep aration 2.1 Battery Inst allation 1. Remove the battery cover . 2. Insert 4 “AA” batteries as indicated in the battery comp artment. 3. Replace the battery cover . Notes: • When the low battery sy mbol ( ) appears on the display , turn t he monitor off, then rep lace all batteries at the same time.
8 2. Prep aratio n 2.2 Using the AC Ad apter 1. Insert the AC ada pter plug into the AC adapter jack on the rear side of the monitor . 2. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. T o disc onnect the AC ada pter , unplu g the AC adapter f rom the el ectrical outlet first and then remo ve the AC a dapter plug from th e moni tor .
9 2. Prep aratio n EN 2.3 Setting the Date and T ime Set th e mon itor to the correc t date and time b efore t aking a meas ureme nt for th e first tim e. 1. Press the Date/T ime setting ( ) button . The year fl ashes o n the Date/Time display . 2. Push or button to change the year .
10 3. Using the Device 3.1 Applying the Arm Cuff Remo ve tight- fitting c lothin g or tigh t rolled up sleeve f rom your left upper arm. Do no t place th e arm cu ff over thick clothes . 1. Insert the air plug in to the air jack securely . 2. Wrap the arm cuff firmly in place aroun d your lef t upper arm.
11 3. Using the Device EN 3.2 How to Sit Correctly T o take a meas urement , you n eed to be r elaxed a nd comfor tably seated, u nder comfor table room t emperatur e. Avoid bat hing, dri nking alco hol or c affeine, sm oking, exerci sing or eating 30 minutes before taking a meas urement.
12 3. Using the Device 3.3 T aking a Measurement Notes: • T o cancel a measu rement, pre ss the ST ART/ST OP button t o release the air in th e arm cuff. • Remain still while t aking a m easurem ent. The moni tor is des igned to take measu remen ts and store the meas ureme nt values in the memo ry for 2 pe ople u sing USER ID 1 and US ER ID 2.
13 3. Using the Device EN 3. Remove the arm cuff. 4. Press the ST ART/STOP button to turn the monitor off. The moni tor automa tically stores the meas urement r esult i n its memory . It will automat ically turn off after 2 minut es. Note: W ait 2-3 minutes before taking another measurement.
14 3. Using the Device 3.4 Using the Memo ry Function The moni tor automa tically stores the resul ts up to 100 se ts for each user (1 an d 2). It can als o calc ulate an averag e val ue base d on the l ast 3 m easurem ent v alues taken within 10 minu tes.
15 3. Using the Device EN T o V iew the Ave rage V alue 1. Select your USER I D (1 or 2). 2. Press and hold the button for mo re than 3 seconds. Notes: • If the previous measurement was taken without setting the dat e and time, the average value is not calculated.
16 3. Using the Device T o V iew th e Wee kly Average V alue The m onitor c alculate s and display s weekly avera ges for th e measur ements taken in the m orning and e vening wi thin 8 wee ks for e ach user. Note: The week begins Sunday at 2 :00. 1. Select your USER I D (1 or 2).
17 3. Using the Device EN Note: If there are no measurement values stored in the memor y , the screen to the r ight is displayed. Morning W eekly A verage This is the av erage for the measurements taken during t he morning (4:00 - 1 1: 59) between Sun day and Saturday .
18 3. Using the Device T o Delete All the V alues Stored in Memory The val ues stored in the m emory a re delete d by USE R ID. 1. Select your USER I D (1 or 2). 2. Press the Memory button, while the memory symbol ( ) appears. 3. Whil e holding the button down, press the ST ART/STOP button for more than 3 se conds.
19 EN 4. Error Messages and T roub leshooting 4.1 Error Messages Display Cause Solution Irregular heartbeats are detected. Remove the arm cuff. W ait 2-3 minutes and then t ake another measureme nt. Repeat the steps in section 3.3. If this error continues to appear , contact your physic ian.
20 4. Error Message s and Troubleshoo ting Air plug is disconnected. Insert the air plug securely . Refer to section 3.1. Arm cuff is applied too loos ely . Apply the arm cuff t ighter . Refer to section 3.1. Air is leaking from the arm cuff . Replace the arm cuff wit h a new one.
21 4. Error Message s and Troubleshoo ting EN 4.2 T roubleshootin g Problem Cause Solution The measurement resu lt is extremely high (or low). Arm cuff is applied t oo loosely . Apply the arm cuff tighter . Refer to section 3.1 . Movement or talking during measurement.
22 4. Error Message s and Troubleshoo ting Nothing happens when you pres s the buttons. The batteries are empty . Replace the batteries with new ones. Refer to section 2.1 . The batteries have been inserted incorrectly . Insert the ba tterie s with the correct (+/-) polarity .

Maint enance and S t orage 5.1 Maintenance T o protec t your dev ice fro m damage, p lease observe th e foll owing: • S tore the de vice and the c omponents in a clean, saf e location. • Do not use any abr asive or volatile cle aners. • Do not wash the device and any components or immerse them in water .
