3 Installation WARNING: We advi se our custome rs to have the P arrot MKi9100 fitted by a professiona l. Before you begin Checking the car configura tion The cables supplied wit h the kit feature ISO co nnectors and two pairs of line -out jack s. T he line-out jacks can be used if y o ur audio s ystem features this option (use of an amplifier).
4 Installing the kit Car stereo w it h ISO connec tors 1. Connect the m ale connectors of the hands- free kit to the car s tereo. 2. Join the vehicle‟s audi o and power sup pl y cables to the fem ale connectors of the Parrot MKi9100.
5 On the installation cabl e, connect the free yellow wire to the corres ponding audio s ystem‟s mute-input if ava ilable (mute in 1, mute in 2 or m ute in 3). Installing the elec tronic box Avoid installing the electro nic box near heat ing or air-cond itioning system , on a spot directl y exposed to sunlight or be hind metal walls.
6 Install ing the ki t‟s pow er cable Note : In order to ch eck the wiring, connect t he screen before plac ing it on the das hboard. ► Refer to the Ch ecking the wiring s ection for more information. Refer to your car stereo ‟s wiring diagram .
7 Installing the music cable Connect the m usic cable to the electronic b ox and place the USB / iPod / Jack connectors into the glove box, t he central console or th e parcel tray dependin g on the configuration of your dashboard. M ake sure that the cable is not pinche d.
8 D < 60 cm α < 45° Make sure the m icrophone is not exposed to the air stream from air vents. Do not install the m icrophone cable in heat ing, ventilation or air conditioning s ystems. Mounting th e double microphone The mounting location f or the m icrophone mus t be clean and free f rom grease or dust.
9 WARNING: Do no t install the remote con trol on the outside of the steering wheel and ensure it does not get in the way when driv ing . Installing the remote control on the dashboard If you want to place the re mote control on the dash board, stick the double- sided tape located on the flat side of the bracket to fix it against the dashboard.
10 Installing the scree n Selecting a location Install the screen in an easily acces sible and visible location. Do not install the screen in the airbag deplo y m ent are a or in a poss ible head impact area. Mounting th e screen The mounting location f or the screen m ust be clean and free from grease or dust.
11 Getting started WARNING : If the remot e control doesn’t seem to be associated to the electronic box whil e using the Parrot MKi for the first time , refer to the Associating the remote control to the electronic box section.
12 Using the v oc al menus Activating / deactivating the vocal menus You can activate or de activate the voca l menus of the Parrot MKi9100. To do s o: 1. Press the jog wheel an d select Sett ings > Audio > Spoken menus . 2. Press the jog wheel to act ivate or deactivate this option.
13 Automati c connection Once your phone is p aired to the Parrot M Ki910 0, the connection between both devices will be a utomatically establishe d each tim e you enter your vehicle if your screen is plugged in. Managing Bluetoo th devices Disconnecting a phone 1.
14 Synchronizing the phonebook Note : Only contacts stored in the memory of the phone will be sy nchronised in th e kit’s memory . Automatic synchronisation W ith most of the Bluetoot h phones, the p honebook is autom atically synchron ized in the kit‟s m emory.
15 P hone Before using your Parrot MKi910 0 telephone functio n, you first have to conn ect it with your phone / PDA. ► For more informati on,refer to the Establish ing a Bluetooth con nection with a ph one section.
16 Receiving a call An incoming call is in dicated b y a ringtone. T he name of t he caller is announced if his details are stored in the phonebo ok of the phone con nected to the Parrot MK i9100 . Answering a call Press the button to ans wer an incom ing call .
17 Managing voice mail During a call, the Parrot MKi910 0 allows you to send DT MFs to manage your voice m ail for example. T o do so : 1. Press the jog wheel to acc ess the DTMF m enu. > « 0 » is displa yed by the kit. 2. Use the jog wheel to se lect your DTMF b etween the following possibilities : 0,1,2,3,4,5 ,6,7,8,9,# or *.
18 Using voice recognition Receiving a call v ia v oice recognition To receive a call via voice recognition, m agic words mus t be activated. Activating / deactivating the magic words Note : Magic words are activate d by default . 1. Press the jog wheel an d select Phon e > Voice Co mmands > M agic words .
19 Calling a contact w ith several phone numbers If there are several p hone num bers associated to the contact you want to call, you ca n specif y the type of num ber.
20 Music Using the Parrot MKi9100 w it h an external source Notes : - While playing a son g, press the butt on to get to main menu. - While navigating throug h the menus, pres s the button to get to t he Now Playing s creen.
21 Using the Parrot MKi 9100 with a USB peripheral WARNING: If your Parrot MKi91 00 is connected to an iPhone and an U SB fla sh drive, the iPhone has priority: you c an only browse through your iPhone content . 1. Connect the US B flash drive or the MP3 pla yer using the U SB cable.

23 Settings Brightness You can adapt the s creen brightnes s of the Parrot MK i 9100 . To do so : 1. Press the jog wheel an d select Settings > B rightness . 2. Select Night mode or Day mode . Note : You can also adjust the brightness parameter by holding down the jog whe el for 2 seconds.
24 Activating the ex ternal noise eliminatio n In order to im prove the listening comf ort of your interloc utor, the Parrot MKi 9100 allows you to tone down the no ise from outside your car (motorcycles, truck s) if y o ur window is ope n.
25 Lateral noise detection effect deactivate d – Microp hone misplaced Audio Note : Wh ile playing a son g, hold down the button for 2 seconds to acces s to the audio effects menu. Using the equalizer The equalizer allo ws you to adjust the lo w, medium and high frequencies depend ing on your preferences.
26 Using the Virtual Super Bass The Virtual Super Bas s effect allows you to am plify the low frequencies. To activat e or deactivate it : 1. Press the jog wheel an d select Audio effects > Virtua l Super Bass . 2. Press the jog wheel to activate or deact ivate this option.
