10 THE CERAMIC HOB Do not use the ap pliance if the ce ramic glass is damaged . If a fau lt or cr ack becomes visible dur ing cooking, disconnect the ap pliance imm ediatel y from the el ectricity supply a nd contact y our local Service Force Centre.
11 HINTS AND TIPS · Lift, rather than s lide sa ucepans on and of f the hob areas. This will reduce the risk of sc ratches and metal m ark s fr om sauc epans with alum inium bases. M etal m ark s can be easily c leaned of f provid ing the y are not allowed to bur n on.
12 THE DUAL GRILL WARNING – Accessibl e parts may becom e hot when the grill is in use . Keep child ren away. The gr ill is a dual cir cuit gr ill which m eans that the ful l area of the grill c an b e used or for ec onom y purposes, the ce ntre secti on onl y can be used whe n cook ing sm aller qua ntities of food.

14 THE TOP OVEN The top o ven is th e sm aller of the t wo ovens. It is heated b y elements in the top oven and bo ttom of the oven. It is des igned f or c ooking sm aller quan tities of food. It g ives esp ecia lly good results if used to co ok fruit c akes , sweet or sa voury f lans or quiche.
15 HINTS AND TIPS · All cook ing sh ould b e carried out us ing an o ven shelf pos ition ed in one of the shelf runn ers. · There should alwa y s be at leas t 2.5cm (1”) between t he top of the f ood and the elem ent. This gives best cook ing resu lts a nd al lows room for r ise in yeast m ixtures, York shire puddi ngs, etc.

18 OVEN COOKING CHART The oven tem peratures ar e intend ed as a guide o nl y. It ma y be necess ary to increas e or dec rease the temper atures b y 10°C to sui t indi vidua l preferenc es and r equirem ents .
19 RO A STING CHART INTERNAL T EMPERAT URES – Rare : 50-60 °C; Med ium : 60- 70°C; W ell don e : 70-80°C MEAT T EMPERAT URE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 m inutes per ½kg ( 1lb).
20 DEFROST FEA TURE This main f an oven func tion defr osts m ost foods faster than m ore conve ntional m ethods . It is particu larl y suitable for delicate f rozen f oods which are to be s erved co ld e.g. cream fille d g ateaux , cak es covered with icings or f rostings, chees ecak es, biscu its, scone s, etc.
21 CARE A ND CLE A NING A lw ays switch off the electr icit y supply at the main wall sw itch and allow the ap pliance to cool before cleaning. CLEANING MATERI ALS Before us ing an y cleani ng m aterials on y our applianc e, check that t he y are suitabl e and t hat t heir use is rec omm ended b y the m anufactur er.
22 DAILY CLE ANING Use the recom m ended Hob Brite Cl eaner da ily. If soilage is not al lowed to burn o n it will be m uch easier t o clean off . 1. Apply a s mall am ount of Hob Brite in the cen tre of each ar ea to be c leaned.
23 HINTS AND TIPS TO REDUCE HOB SOIL AGE: · Make sure the bottom of the saucepan and the cook ing area are clean and dr y before cook ing begins. · Ensure sa ucepa ns are large en ough to accomm odate food to avoid b oil o vers. · If possible, wipe up spi lls and splatter s as th ey occur, but t ak e care to avo id steam burns .
24 CLEANING INSIDE THE GRILL AND OVEN COMPA RTMENTS The sides an d back of the gr ill/top oven and main oven com partm ents are coat ed with a speci al Staycle an coati ng. The y should not be c leaned manuall y. The vitr eous en am el m ain oven b ase an d gr ill/to p oven base c an be c leaned us ing norm al oven cleaners with care.
25 CLEANING BETWEEN THE OUTER AND INNER DOOR GLASS The outer d oor g lass is r em ovable for cleani ng. TO R EMOV E TH E OU TER GLA SS 1. Open the o ven door slight ly to gain ac cess to the two cross head sc rews on th e top of the o ven door. 2. Loosen the t wo scre ws us ing a P ozidr ive screwdri ver.
26 REPLACING AN OVEN LIGHT BULB Disconnect the applian ce from th e electrici t y supply be fore replacing the bulb. The t ype of bulb r equire d is a 300°C 25 watt sm all Edison Sc rew. Part num ber 572 491 5 431-00/1 (Avail able t hrough your loc al S ervic e Forc e Centres ).
