6 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and the battery car tridge is remov ed before adjusting or checking function on the tool. Installing or removing battery cartridge • Alwa ys switch off the tool bef ore inser tion or remov al of the batter y car tridge.
7 CA UTION: • Alwa ys check the direction of rotation befo re operation. • Use the rev ersing switch only after the tool comes to a complete stop . Changing the direction of rotation before the t ool stops may damage the tool. • When not operating the tool, alwa ys set the rev ersing switch le ver to the neutral position.
8 Sliding to the mark is high rotation and the mark is low rotation. Before oper ation, always mak e sure that the lev er is correctly set to your desired mode mark and use the tool at an appropriate speed for your wo r k. CA UTION: • When using the action mode change lev er , use only when the tool stops.
9 For other countries 1. T o install the bit, pull the sleev e in the direction of the arrow and inser t the bit into the sleev e as far as it will go . Then release the sleev e to secure the bit. 2. T o install the bit, pull the sleev e in the direction of the arrow and inser t the bit-piece and bit into the sleev e as far as it will go .
10 OPERA TION CA UTION: • Alwa ys inser t the battery car tridge all the way until it loc ks in place. If you can see the red par t on the upper side of the b utton, it is not locked completely . Inser t it fully until the red part cannot be seen. If not, it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injur y to you or someone around you .
11 Tightening bolts The proper fastening torque ma y differ depending upon the kind or siz e of the screw/bolt, the material of the workpiece to be fastened, etc. The relation between f astening torque and fastening time is shown in the figures . NO TE: • Use the proper bit fo r the head of the screw/bolt that you wish to use.
12 CA UTION: • If the tool is operated continuously until the battery cartr idge has discharged, allow the tool to rest f or 15 minutes before proceeding with a fresh battery . Screwdriving operation CA UTION: • Adjust the adjusting ring to the proper torque lev el for y our work .
13 Drilling in metal T o prev ent the bit from slipping when star ting a hole, make an indentation with a center-punch and hammer at the point to be drilled. Place the point of the bit in the indentation and star t drilling. Use a cutting lubricant when drilling metals.
14 Raise the arm par t of the spring and then place it in the recessed par t of the housing with a slotted bit screwdriver of slender shaft or the lik e. Use pliers to remov e the carbon br ush cap of the carbon brushes. T ake out the worn carbon brushes, inser t the new ones and replace the carbon brush cap in rev erse.
