7- ENG D25806 5. Assemble grommet kit and quick-connect nozzles as described in instruc- tions supplied . 6. Add engine oil (supplied) to engine. Refer to engine manual supplied by engine manufacturer for corr ect procedur e. NOTE: There will be a slight amount of oil in the engine fr om factory testing.
8- ENG D25806 PRESSURE WASHER Gear Reduced High Pressur e Pump : Increases the pr essure of the water sup- ply . Engine: Drives the high pressur e pump. High Pressur e Hose: Carries the pressurized water fr om the pump to the gun and wand. Spray Gun: Connects with wand to control water flow rate, dir ection, and pres- sure.
9- ENG D25806 PRESSURE WASHER TERMINOLOGY NOTE: Become familiar with this terminology before operating. PSI: Pounds per Square Inch. The unit of measur e for water pressur e. Also used for air pressur e, hydraulic pressur e, etc. GPM: Gallons Per Minute.
10- ENG D25806 TO USE WAND Y our pressure washer is equipped with four spray nozzles. Each nozzle is color coded and delivers a specific spray pattern for a particular cleaning purpose. The size of the nozzle determines the size of the fan spray and the pressur e out of the nozzle.
11- ENG D25806 TO SIPHON CHEMICALS/CLEANING SOL VENTS Siphoning chemicals or cleaning solvents is a low pressur e operation. NOTE: Use only soaps and chemicals designed for pressur e washer use. Do not use bleach. 1. Press chemical hose onto barbed fitting located near high pressur e hose connection of pump as shown.
12- ENG D25806 ST AR TING Prior to starting, refer to your engine manual for pr oper starting procedur es for your engine type. 1. In a well ventilated outdoor area Add fr esh high quality unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher . Do not overfill.
13- ENG D25806 How T o Change Pump Oil 1. Loosen pump oil fill cap. 2. Place a container under the pump oil drain plug. 3. Remove pump oil drain plug. 4. After oil is drained replace pump oil drain plug. Tighten securely . 5. Remove pump oil fill cap and fill with recommended oil.
14- ENG D25806 HOW TO CLEAN THE WA TER INLET FIL TER This screen filter should be checked periodically and cleaned if necessary . 1. Remove filter by grasping end and removing it fr om water inlet of pump as shown. 2. Clean filter by flushing it with water on both sides.
15- ENG D25806 ENGINE Consult the Engine Owners Manual for the manufacturer's r ecommendations for stor- age. PUMP It is recommended that you follow these steps to pr otect the internal seals of the pressur e washer when STORING THE UNIT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD and/or WHEN FREEZING TEMPERA TURES ARE EXPECTED.
16- ENG D25806 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE PROBLEM Engine will not start (see Engine Manual for fur- ther engine troubleshooting) No or low pressur e (initial use) CAUSE CORRECTION No fuel. Add Fuel. Low oil (if equipped with low oil shutdown). Add requir ed amount of oil.
